On the third anniversary of the shootings, I attended the City of Tucson’s bell ringing ceremony. It was held at Fire Station One.
Mayor Rothschild rang the bell 19 times.
Afterwards, I learned from the Mayor that the bell dated back to the 1880s. He said it could be heard for 5 miles and was the fire alarm of it’s day for the community. I thought using the bell to mark the anniversary was quite appropriate and appreciated.
